WELCOME BACK GUYS :)

If you follow me on Instagram you're aware that my Colourpop order arrived yesterday! I posted lip swatches of all the colours I got on my Instagram, if you want to see check that out. Some of you may be from Instagram already and are here to read my opinion so hello to you! Since I was super dooper excited to get this order I thought I'd do a first impression on the Ultra Matte Lip in the shade Beeper.

11:10AM

First things first (I'm the realest), lets talk packaging. I love how it has clear casing so you can see exactly what colour it is, unlike my lipsticks which I need to store upside down to see the names. This is going to make my life so much easier, thank you Colourpop! Now for the actual application. When I was applying it I saw the colour going on but it felt like nothing. The formula is the most lightweight liquid lip I have ever applied. Another positive is how fast it dried, it took roughly 30 seconds and then I had zero transfer. I kissed a tissue, the back of my hand and drank from a glass and nothing came off! I've never worn anything on my lips that does not transfer before so immediately I was so impressed. People warned me prior to receiving my order that they can be drying however I soldiered on and tried it without any lip balm and I did not find it to be drying at all.

1:30PM

Between now and when I first applied it I had a late breakfast, teas and lunch. None of the food I ate removed any of the liquid lip or dulled the colour. I did accidentally brush my teeth because I completely forgot I had it on. That's a good thing right?! Luckily this endured my teeth brushing journey and none wore off. In the updated photo you can notice some toothpaste on my bottom lip, oops. Anyway even though this happened I continued wearing it without touching up since it still looked good.

4PM

It has been roughly 5 hours (just under) since I first applied this. This is the last update on how it has been going because I'm going to take a shower and study for my exams.

If you compare this photo to when I first applied it the pigmentation is pretty much identical. The only difference I noticed is now the edges are less neat, this could probably be fixed with applying lip liner when wearing this. It could also be because silly me forgot it was on and brushed my teeth.

I just wanted to say this is the best liquid lip I have tried so far and I am really impressed with it. I can relate to the raves it has been getting on YouTube and by other beauty lovers that have tried it! I'll definitely be making another order soon because it lasts well and is something I can apply and not have to worry about for hours.

Thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Welcome back to my blog and welcome to my first ever fashion post! Today is all about outfit ideas and tips for parties and events.

All my outfits I've put together (and have worn out) incorporate heels. Being 5 foot 4 means I need that extra height so I don't get lost in the crowd, haha.

Outfit one - Black, Gold & White

I'm the type of person that feels the most comfortable in pants/jumpsuits. For any special occasion I gravitate towards this jumpsuit because it's so comfortable but not too plain or baggy. The belt pulls in the waist creating shape and the neckline allows for a nice necklace to be added. To slightly brighten up the outfit I added white pointed heels to act as a contrast and really stand out. Any heels and necklace could be paired with this as black clothing is very versatile and easy to style! I also think it would look really nice with bright coloured heels.

Jumpsuit: Dotti
Shoes: Windsor Smith
Blazer: Ally Fashion,
Necklace: a department store in Italy - Colette sell similar necklaces!

Outfit two - Fresh and Bright

This is a recent outfit I have put together and not yet worn out. I'm thinking of wearing it for my birthday. I love how bright it is and when I look at it I instantly think of Spring! Bright skirts are an easy way to introduce colour into your outfit and can be paired with white or black tops and heels. I chose white because it looks more fresh and girly, which was the look I was going for. Personally I think this sort of high neckline really suits these midi skirts or one of those tops with a deep V neckline look nice as well!

Top: Unable to find the exact top as it was purchased at an Asian clothing boutique. Misguided and other online boutiques may have something similar.
Skirt: Bardot - unable to find the exact one but browse theiconic.com.au as well as the Bardot site for similar skirts!
Heels - Lipstik Shoes

Outfit three: Co-Ords
This is more of a tip as co-ordinates are a great idea to prevent you from tirelessly searching for bottoms or a top to match. It makes sense to opt for a two piece right?
This is one I fell in love with from Boohoo. A lot of online stores have a section dedicated to co-ords and it is worth checking out!

Some of my favourite places to get co-ords:
Boohoo - sells it together at affordable prices
Missguided - have to purchase top and bottom separately
ASOS - variety of prices to suit your budget

Outfit four: My personal go-to when I do not know what to wear

Hands down my favourite of them all. This is the most easiest option that I do not need to think about too much. If I have been invited out last minute I will always, always wear this! I just switch out the top and heels.

A skincare routine is very important, especially at nighttime. By the end of the day we have a build up of makeup, dirt, oils and other germs. It is vital to go to bed with a clean face and to apply products that can penetrate our skin during the night so it is nice and prepped for the following day.

The best way I could think of to do this is to state the day of the week and what I do. I have problematic skin; hormonal acne, teenage acne scarring and sometimes dehydrated dry skin. Keep reading if you're interested to see what I do to combat this and help my skin be the best it can be.

Every single night that I wear makeup:
I use the Byphasse micellar water with cotton round pads. Usually I need to use 3-4 to remove my makeup completely.

Every night
I alternate between these two cleansers however The Body Shop one is on its last legs. Some people use the Clarisonic every two days however I use it nightly as it cleans my skin completely and removes any traces of remaining makeup.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday
On these three nights I use Skinstitut Retinol Serum. This repairs damaged skin as well as improving skins appearance and texture. I have noticed since using this product, and the other Skinstitut product I will mention, my skin has improved in texture so much! I follow this product with the Skinstitut Moisturise Defence Normal Skin and my Goji berry Eye Cream.
Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday
On these nights I alternate and use the Skinstitut Enzymatic Micro Peel which works over night to exfoliate any dead skin away so I can wake up with smooth soft skin. I use the same eye cream as mentioned above. I purposely chose these nights as I was recommended to do it every three nights and wanted it to fall on a Saturday. Saturday nights are usually when I would wear the most makeup.
Sunday
Sunday nights are kind of my rest nights. After a week of exfoliators/peels and serums I just cleanse my face with my Clarisonic and apply a generous amount of Desert Essence 100% Pure Jojoba Oil. Also by this time of the week I am usually lazy with skincare.
Masks/Shower
Lastly I wanted to mention the masks I use and what skincare I do when I'm in the shower. I know this is probably a lot of products and steps already but I have had this routine for a year and it is working for me.
These two products are what I use in the shower. I do sometimes use my Clarisonic but on the nights I do face masks I will usually use St Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub to remove dead skin prior to it. Palmer's Creamy Cleanser & Makeup Remover removes my makeup really well when I am in the shower and leaves my skin so soft!

This blog post is almost over, I know its kind of like a book now, haha.
On Wednesday nights I try to use Andalou Gylcolic mask to brighten my skin mid week and on Sunday's to pamper my skin and deep clean I use Kiss my Face Deep Cleansing mask. The Deep Cleansing mask does give me breakouts sometimes as it brings all the gunk to the surface.
Last but not least on the nights where I feel like my skin is really congested and icky I use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. I use this product very rarely as it is an intense mask which always brings my breakouts to the surface, however it does dry any current ones up making them fade quicker. It also clears my blackheads. I wanted to include images of where I usually apply it (my problem areas) and how it looks after removal. Keep in mind the redness goes down after half an hour to 40 minutes so I do not recommend using this mask before having to go out. Also if you have sensitive skin this may be too harsh.

To those of you who have read this entire blogpost, thank you so much!
I hope this was helpful and may you all have wonderful skin days :)

I have finally used up enough products to do an empties review post on! Most of it is skin care because for some reason, it takes me forever to use up any makeup.

Since skincare is dominant in this empties collection I will begin with that.

Revita Labs Botanical Formula Eye Complex Firming Cream
Price: AU$11.74
Claims:
  • Special Herbs Help Firm, Tone & Detoxify
  • Fights Bags, Crows Feet & Shadows
  • For All Skin Types
  • Paraben Free
Verdict:
This was my first ever eye cream I ever purchased. I was suffering with my under eyes always looking dull, dry and cakey whenever I wore makeup. Whenever I wore this eye cream under makeup I noticed the makeup did start to separate. Therefore I only applied this at night time in a thick layer and it really hydrated my under eyes. I can't comment on it fighting crows feet as I am still too young to have that. At the moment I would not repurchase this as I have another eye cream I am trying out.

Clarisonic Mia 2 Brush Heads - Acne
Price: AU$2.08
Verdict:
I have had my clarisonic for a year now and I've already gone through one normal brush head and three acne ones. I have acne prone skin and to me the acne head works the best. I will repurchase because it really feels like it deep cleans all the build up in my pores and removes left over makeup I may have.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser
Price: AU$17.95
Claims:
  • Gently cleanses oil and blemish prone skin
  • Removes make-up and impurities
  • Helps keep skin blemish-free with anti-bacterial tea tree oil
Verdict:
I am a big supporter of using tea tree on breakouts as it helps dry them out and shortens their lifespan! Unfortunately my acne is hormonal so this did not give me blemish-free skin but it did dry up my little friends a lot faster than usual. It dried them up so much I sometimes would get really dry skin from it. I had use this every other night to prevent it from drying out my skin however I did enjoy using it. I will not repurchase this because I am trying out another face wash. If that one does not work out I probably would go back to this one.

Phytorelax Laboratories Ultra Rich Body Butter with Pure Coconut Oil
Verdict:
This was a really moisturising body butter but the only place I could use it was on my feet and legs. For some reason whenever I used it on my chest, stomach, arms or back I'd wake up with small bumps all over those areas. I'm not sure if it was because of the coconut oil? I do have a sensitive upper half and the only thing I can use on it without irritating it is rosehip oil or jojoba oil. My favourite way to apply this was in a thick layer before bed on my feet then put fluffy socks on. I always woke up with soft smooth feet that were summer ready! I also used this after shaving my legs and it mositurised them really well. As I mentioned before I cannot find this anywhere so I won't be repurchasing it. I also won't repurchase this because my skin didn't agree with it. Does coconut oil irritate anyone else's skin or am I weird?

FINALLY ONTO THE MAKEUP PART!

Garnier Perfect Blur 5sec Smoothing Base Perfection
Price: AU$13.59
Claims:
A smoothing and perfecting skincare base with light reflecting technology to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, imperfections, pores and shine.
Verdict:
I really enjoyed using this primer whenever I had breakouts because I really feel like it smoothed out my skin for any makeup I was going to put on top of it. It has a velvety finish and less is more with this product. I don't have large pores so I'm not sure how well it fills them. Again I won't be repurchasing this because I have other primers at the moment.

Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara
Price: AU$12
Claims:
• Immediate Extreme Volume
• Buildable Formula Without Clumping
• Long-Lasting Power
Verdict:
I don't have much to say about this product because I really did not like it at all. It went so clumpy and even when I was able to separate the clumps it would flake throughout the day and make my lashes look dry. I know this product has worked so well for so many people but it did not work for me no matter how I tried applying it. I will not repurchase this or finish using this product.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Price: AU$14.95
Claims:
Fit Me skin merging pigments and translucent primer base ensure comfortable wear, for the most breathable fit. The weightless formula and micro fine pigments blend 100% with your complexion creating a natural and flawless appearance.
Verdict:
I LOVE this concealer. I think I go through them so fast because on my "no makeup" days I use this all over my face with some powder. It the perfect amount of coverage and lasts all day. It never looks cakey and covers breakouts. If I don't set this under my eyes it does crease, but so do all other concealers I have tried. This concealer is perfect, I already have another one!

I hope my first ever empties review was interesting to read and not too long or boring.
Thank you for reading, have a lovely day/night

Since I have more lip products than I will ever need (more is on the way, oops) I thought I'd do a quick post about the lip product tag for you all to discover what I'm loving and what isn't getting much love from me.

If you've come from instagram then I tag you to post a photo of your favourite lip products and tag me (@thedailycatchup) so I can discover more goodies for my lips. I have an addiction, I know, I just can't help it.

Lets begin with the tag shall we!

Question one: Favourite balm/treatment
I have gone through countless lip balms but my all time favourite is the Burt's Bees Ultra Conditioning Lip Balm with Kokum Butter. What a long name wow. Anyway now that I got the long title out of the way I can tell you that this is by far the most moisturising lip balm I have ever applied to my lips. When I put it on before bed I'd wake up and they would feel so soft and ready for the lipstick wearing day ahead.

Kokum butter actually helps regenerate skin cells and heals skin. No wonder it fixed my chapped lips! You learn something new everyday.

Question two: Best eye-catching red
I'm not someone who really wears reds since I don't think it suits me, however I love burgundy shades. They count right? My favourite for years now is Revlon's lipstick in the shade 630 Raisin Rage. Since I did cheat and its not actually an 'eye-catching red' I will add in Rimmel's lipstick in the shade 107. Even though I don't wear red I really like the formula and colour of this one.

Question three: Best luxury and best drugstore
My first ever luxury lipstick was Too Faced Naked Dolly. It's the perfect nude shade and has a perfect creamy texture. The only downfall with this is that if my lips are dry, everyone will know about it. Other than that it is my go-to nude lip option. For drugstore I couldn't pick one lipstick so I've chosen an entire brand. By far Maybelline produce the best lip products in my opinion. From their intense velvet lip pencils to their colorsensational lipsticks, I love them all!

Question four: Best MAC lipstick
100% Please me. For the longest time I wanted to get snob (I own this now) but please me suits my skin tone so much better. It lasts a good amount of time without giving me that drying feeling matte lipsticks usually do.

Question five: The most disappointing
These don't disappoint me because of the formulas it is simply because the colours do not suit me. NYX Matte lipstick in the shade Pale Pink and Rimmel 03.

Question six: Liner - yes or no?
I tend to wear liner moreso with darker shades so I get an accurate application however I am starting to try incorporate it with most lipstick shades. I'm on the fence at the moment, yes and no.
Some of my favourite lip liners are: all of Essence ones!! Kiko and the Sephora ones.

Question seven: Best gloss
I am not a lipgloss person but I will sacrifice my dislike for Maybelline's lipgloss The Elixir I think it's called? In the shade 095 Blush Essence. It doesn't give me the annoying sticky lipgloss feeling and is a beautiful colour.
That's it for the lip product tag!

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day/night

I work in fast food and have had plenty of shifts now where I am on fries for 5 hours+ or constantly multitasking. I'm someone who needs their foundation not to fade and keep its coverage. After trying many combinations and products over the past four months I have finally found the perfect mix. These products will not budge I can assure you of that!

1. Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash - this mascara has not failed me since I purchased it. It seperates and lengthens my lashes as well as holding the curl all day long. When I finish work my lashes still look the same way they did when I first applied it.
This photo was taken after a 7 hour shift.

2. L'Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation - this foundation provides the fullest of full coverage without fading at all. After a 7 hour shift my nose got the slightest bit oily but you couldn't even tell unless I looked up close. The only downfall with this foundation is that on my skin type after wearing it for prolonged periods it starts looking dry and cakey in areas.

3. Lip Stains - I alternate brands, the one in the above photo is just the one I happened to use today. I've noticed lipsticks, balms and lipgloss do not last as well as stains do. The one on the image lasted me 7 hours through eating and drinking as well.

4. Maybelline age rewind concealer + face of Australia translucent loose powder - these two products combined do not crease of fade whatsoever, they are the dynamic duo!

5. MAC studio fix powder - this powder has never failed me, not even in hot weather or the fast food industry. It doesn't look powdery and the coverage doesn't fade.

I hope this post was helpful to those of you who work in fast food, are looking for full proof makeup to last through hot weather or an entire day.

Thank you for reading!

Overview
I enjoy wearing both these foundations specifically on special occasions as they were pricey. I already have a backup of the Lumiere Velvet as that is my favourite out of the two and never has disappointed me. I probably would not purchase Perfection Lumiere only because the slightly cheaper one works so well for my skin and I cannot afford to purchase both (student life). If you want to treat yourself and splurge on highend makeup I recommend checking out Chanel's range. The staff were so lovely and helpful and if you're unsure you can always get samples. To me these foundations are my go to when I need to go somewhere and need my foundation not to look too noticeable but still cover my imperfections as well as look good in photos.

I hope this review was helpful and you have a lovely night!

Since today officially marks the day that I can start wearing makeup again it only made sense to have my favourites as my MOTD.

At the beginning of last month I purchased almost all of these products! I got the Chi Chi 3D Magic lash mascara, L'oreal infallible 24H-matte, Model's prefer contour kit, Australis primer (original) and Gerard Cosmetics lipstick all new. I instantly fell in love with these products and haven't been able to put them down since.

The Maybelline eyebrow pencil as you can see has been much loved and I'm almost out of it. Definitely going to repurchase this because I love it for a quick natural brow look. Lastly the Milani bronzer was an old favourite of mine that I put away in my stash and forgot about. Last month I rediscovered it and love using it in combination with my Model's prefer contour kit.

Prices and review
Australis primer $14.95. Since my skin has been on the dryer side lately I have really enjoyed this primer to add some moisture back into my skin.

Maybelline eye studio brow precise $9.99. Love, love, love!

Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash $22.95. This mascara lengthens and separates my lashes. It also holds my curl all day and does not flake at all!

Models Prefer contour palette $16.99. Prior to this palette I only had the Australis one which unfortunately was not one of my favourites. This one is a lot easier to blend so it's more forgiving for beginners like myself.

L'oreal infallible pro matte $20.96. I wasn't going to buy this foundation because it's matte and my skin is currently dry. But I was persuaded to get it after reading countless positive reviews about the coverage and lasting power. Those reviews, I can tell you are 100% correct. In two layers my redness and scarring is completely covered like no other foundation. The coverage does not wear off and does not feel cakey. For me personally I prefer applying it with a beauty sponge to add moisture into the application.

Milani bronzer XL all over glow $9.99. This is one of those oldies but a goody. Like I said above I love using it in combination with the contour palette. It adds a nice bronze glowy sheen to my skin without being too overpowering.

Gerard Cosmetics Vintage Rose $19. This is a matte shade that isn't drying and lasts a while on my lips. It's the perfect 'my lips but better' shade.
