Happy New Year everyone and Happy Holidays

About three weeks ago I saw Meghan Rienks post a video with her feet as the image. Out of natural curiosity I clicked into it and discovered this product. Of course I wanted to try it out myself and have the opportunity to feel satisfied watching my skin peel.
*If you hate images of feet or don't like the sight of peeling skin just a heads up that I will be including a few pictures of my results*

Claims according to Chemist Warehouse
Milky Foot is the easiest way to exfoliate and moisturise your feet. Milky Foot removes hardened skin, softens cracks and calluses and moisturises your feet. In 1-2 weeks, your feet will feel milky soft and smooth.

Price: $30 one pair

20th December
Today I decided to try this product and see if it is in fact a hit or miss. I applied the foot bags on my feet and left them on for one hour. It says to close it off around your ankles using the tab but I found it didn't stick at all so I used an elastic band. ****The tabs do work I had a blonde moment and didn't realise how to do them.

Once the 60 minutes passed I then rinsed my feet as instructed. They felt the same way they always do, maybe a little dryer. The skin is supposed to start peeling in 3-7 days so I will check back in then.

22nd December (day 2)
Quick update! I have noticed very slight peeling on my left heel and the bottom of both my feet. Hopefully this is a good sign and proper peeling will start tomorrow as expected!

23rd December (day 3)
As the box stated my feet were peeling today. Especially near my toes! I will include some pictures so if you don't want to see look away now.

It's currently hot in Australia and I had to wear sandals all day. It made walking a little uncomfortable. Comparing the afternoon and night they began peeling so much more.

24th (day 4)
This morning I woke up to a lovely, scaly surprise. As you can see my entire feet were peeling and the new skin feels really smooth.

25th and 26th (days 5 and 6)
I haven't taken any photos because I've been busy with Christmas but peeling has begun on the tops of my toes. The soles of my feet are almost completely all peeled off and fresh new skin.

Overall for someone that didn't think they had a lot of dry skin and didn't think it would work on my feet I am so impressed. The peeling was a little uncomfortable but that is because it has been hot here and even wearing shoes is uncomfortable. The peeling was not painful whatsoever! If you want baby smooth feet I highly recommend this! I've already gotten family members onto it.

I will admit the price is a little off-putting but it does work, as you can see in the above images. If you suffer from dry skin on your feet and moisturiser and thick socks do not suffice try out this product, it may change your life!

It's the time of the year when I always go away for the summer and I'm faced with the challenging task of picking what makeup I need with me. 99% of the time I bring way too much and barely wear any of it. I've created a technique that helps me to hopefully not overpack and it might help you too!

The technique I generally stick to is by beginning with what I first apply up until the very last product I apply. I also take products I know work for me, I don't think of travelling as a time to try out new products.

In saying that lets talk base. This year I will be taking:
  • Australis The Original Primer - this primer is hydrating and helps keep my makeup on.
  • Garnier BB Cream - I have acne scarring and I like to wear this at the beach to give me a little coverage and extra sun protection
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation #200 NUDE -  for when I'm paler
  • Covergirl 3in1 #842 - when I get a tan
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in the shade 20 - my go to concealer for blemishes and undereyes
  • Face of Australia Translucent Powder - I always "bake" my undereyes with this. It's the only product that prevents them from creasing or looking cakey so it is a must!
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder NC30 - this is a double purpose product as I can either wear it alone or to set my foundation
  • ELF Blush and Bronzer Duo in St Lucia - Instead of carrying a blush and a bronzer separately I'm opting for a duo. It is much more practical to bring either multipurpose products or two in one products since it will lighten your makeup load.
  • NARS Albatross Highligher - my all time favourite highlight. You can adjust how intense you want it depending on how much you apply.
For the eyes and brows I have really cut back because I know I don't really wear a lot of eyeshadow on vacation plus I can survive with one brow product.
  • Chi Chi Brown Pomade - I need something waterproof that will last because I was not blessed with full brows
  • Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette - it has every shade of eyeshadow I will ever need in one place. I can do natural day looks or a smokey eye.
  • L'Oreal Telescopic Mascara and Maybelline Great Lash - Telescopic is for every day wear and Great Lash is waterproof. You always need a waterproof mascara for the warmer weather and especially if you're going to spend a lot of your holiday outdoors at the beach!
Last up is lips, my downfall where I bring my whole collection lol. To be completely honest I'm not sure what I will be taking 100% because I usually add or change it up last minute. For the moment I have decided to bring

  • Colorpop Ultra Matte Lips in Midi and Clueless
  • Australis Velourlips in MI-A-MEE
  • MAC Please Me
  • Gerard Cosmetics Vintage Rose
  • Maybelline Lust For Blush
This list will definitely be expanding because lip products are my obsession. Personally I find matte lipsticks and liquid lipsticks to be the most long lasting products in the heat so they are my mains.

That concludes what will be coming away with me next week, I will still continue to post every Sunday :)
I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I have two foundations in my collection which remind me of each other so I thought I'd put them to the test and wear one and the other on each half of my face. These are Chanel's Perfection Lumiere Velvet and L'Oreal's Nude Magique foundations.

Both foundations require you to shake before use and are very liquidy. Although they are initially thin and runny I do not have to set either of these foundations as they both give a powdery/velvet finish once dried. To apply these type of foundations I use a dense brush kabuki style brush.

L'Oreal is a lot more runnier and harder to control so I often wasted a lot of product when using it. On the other hand Chanel is also liquidy but a thicker consistency and must easier to control as its a plastic bottle that you can squeeze out product.

After 8 hours of wear this is how my face was looking:
When I blotted my face after application I noticed the side of my face with L'Oreal did lose some coverage but it made it set better and not have that "sticky" unset feeling.

The Chanel side didn't lose coverage from this so I think the tissue must have just absorbed excess product I applied.

CHANEL
spf 15 | 30ml
Price: $77
Shade: 20 Beige
Packaging: This foundation is in sturdy plastic packaging which is able to be squeezed to get product out. Not much product falls out when tipped upside down unlike the L'Oreal one. I prefer this packaging because I waste less product by being able to better control the product.

The packaging is really simple and elegant looking. It has black packaging with white writing on it.

Overview: This foundation never looks cakey on me and does no cling to my dry areas. It does crease under my eyes when it hasn't been set with powder but that doesn't bother me as I usually use concealer under there and not foundation. I'm able to customise the coverage depending on how many layer I apply. Generally one is light, two gives medium and three gives me full coverage. I usually do two thin layers and my acne scars are barely visible (only up close). This foundation looks like it blurs the skin and does not sink into pores or fine lines. It gives a healthy satin look to the skin and I've never found it to look powdery.

L'OREAL
spf 18 | 20ml
Price: $7.48
Shade: 120 Ivory

Packaging: It comes in a frosted glass rectangular casing with a metallic purple lid. The entire bottle fits in the palm of my hand (size reference) and looks very sleek and classy for a drugstore foundation. The only downfall with the packaging of this foundation is that you have to pour it out as it has no pump or anything which can get messy. You can also pour out too much as it is very liquidy therefore making it hard to control how much product you want to use. The instructions do inform you to apply onto your finger by blocking the top and pouring it.

Overview: even though this is more affordable you get less product and end up wanting more of it. It takes longer to set but once it has looks identical to the Chanel one from a distance. Up close I notice it clings to my dry areas and settles into fine lines. It also has a satin finish however it looks powdery up close. I also find that it takes longer to build up to a fuller coverage but again looks cakey/powdery the more I add to it.

Verdict
Both of these foundation look luxurious despite the price difference so it all comes down to how they wear on my skin. Up close and personal is when I really noticed the difference and could tell which one was Chanel and which was L'Oreal. As mentioned above Chanel really looks like it blurs the skin and imperfections whereas the L'Oreal one seems to sink into pores and enhances dry areas. They have an identical finish although L'Oreal takes a little longer to set. Chanel gives me undetectable coverage no matter how much I apply, unless you know how my skin looks normally you wouldn't know I have foundation on and L'Oreal does the same with one/two layers only.

I wore both foundations for 8 hours and neither lost any of their coverage, except for wearing off my nose (I did blow my nose a few times). As you will notice in the above comparison image L'Oreal creased slightly more in my smile lines than the Chanel one did. Also from smiling (and most likely because I didn't set it) under my eyes have creased on both sides. After some hours passed I feel as though the L'Oreal foundation did loose some of its powdery look although Chanel still looks more natural and sits better out of the two. The L'Oreal foundation I found clings to the small hairs around my mouth that are usually not even noticeable because they're blonde. I had to blur it in the photo because it looked so terrible. This has never happened to me before so its kind of weird.

To be completely honest once I run out of the L'Oreal foundation, which probably won't take long because it is so easy to waste product (I hate the packaging!) I will not be repurchasing it. I rarely reach for it because I know the Chanel one looks so much better on my skin and I know it lasts on me. I already have a back up of it because it doesn't let me down.

In saying this for this comparison I would say SPLURGE because you get what you pay for. If L'Oreal improved the packaging it would be so much easier to use but Chanel is still the winner in my eyes in terms of formula and they way it sits on my skin.

If you are looking for a very lightweight foundation that is affordable I still suggest trying L'Oreal's Nude Magique foundation because everyone has different preferences with packaging and foundations sit differently on different skin types.

The past two weeks I've been working every day for 6 hours so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out all my mascaras and see how they performed. I've included photos of my natural lashes, once the mascara has been applied as well as how it looks at the end of the day because who doesn't love a good before and after photo!

First up, Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash.
I accidentally took a photo of my other eye for my before photo, oopsy daisy, you can use the following before photos to compare though. This is one of my newer mascaras and it has quickly become one of my favourites. As you can see from when I first applied it till 6+ hours later it still looks pretty identical. There is no flaking and my lashes are still curled.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless
Another one of my favourite mascaras for length. After some time I do find this one can flakes which you can slightly see. Every after photo (third photo in collage) have been taken roughly after 6-8 hours of wearing it. It also wears off after some time unlike the Chi Chi mascara.

Maybelline Illegal Lengths
Compared to the previous two mascaras you will notice in the third photo that the mascara has worn off and there is a lot less length to my lashes. I enjoy using this mascara to lengthen my lashes for short periods of time. The fibres add a lot of length to my lashes and when I look up my lashes reach my eyebrows. I did not find this to transfer even though it does have fibres.

Benefit They're Real
I have only had a sample of this mascara and when I first apply it I really love the look it gives my lashes. After time passes I feel like it doesn't look as good as it first did. I also don't find any trouble removing it at all like some people have found.
This mascara did not transfer throughout the day.

Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara
I got this mascara to use as my every day mascara however I accidentally bought the waterproof version. Unfortunately whenever I've used this mascara I lose eyelashes when I'm removing it. Being waterproof is most likely the reason behind this although I do enjoy using it on my bottom lashes as it doesn't transfer and looks natural. I never wear mascara on my lower lashes however having this in brown is a lot more forgiving for my eye and skin colour.

L'Oreal Telescopic
This is my second tube of L'Oreal's Telescopic and repurchasing the same mascara isn't something I usually do. When I first got it I really struggled to get used to the barely there wand but it's become my holy grail. If you like the look of individual thin long lashes then this is the mascara for you.

It also works really well on lengthening the lower lashes. I haven't found this mascara to ever transfer or flake off and it holds the curl all day.

If you're used to a larger brush this may take a while to get used to. I hadn't used this mascara in months because I ran out so I didn't apply it the best I could have (which you'll notice in the after picture). The wand is also very flexible.

**BONUS MASCARA**
KIKO VolumEyes+
If you came from Instagram you would have seen I only put a picture of 6 wands. Somehow I forgot all about this mascara and almost didn't include it. Instead of leaving it out I thought I'd sneak it in here because it actually is one of my favourites.

I use this sparingly as I purchased it in Italy and don't want to waste it (can't repurchase it). Out of all my mascaras I love how this one makes my lashes look. I've never found it to clump even though the formula is on the dryer side. It sometimes does transfer but not very noticeable. I only notice when I look up close and thats only when I wear it for 7+ hours. If you're able to get your hands on this mascara I highly recommend you to check it out!

Final thoughts...

Out of all of my 7 mascaras that I put to the test Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash stood out the most and wins the prize. From beginning to end it held my curl, didn't lose any length nor did it flake off.

Hopefully this review of my little collection was helpful even though they're mostly lengthening mascaras. I did have three others I wanted to include but unfortunately they dried up and had to be thrown out. Thank you for reading and have a lovely night/day!

P.S. What is your favourite mascara?

My birthday just passed so I had a voucher and money to spend. Naturally I decided to pick up a new makeup product that I wouldn't splurge on if I didn't have a voucher. I decided to pick up the MAC Burgundy Times Nine palette that a lot of people were raving about a few months back.

I don't own many eyeshadow palettes however the ones I do own are all neutral brown/gold shades so I decided to pick something a little bit different.

This palette as the name suggests contains 9 warm toned/burgundy shades that are a mixture of lusture, satin, matte, velvet and veluxe pearl finishes.

Here is an overview of the palette

Price: $65
Making each individual shadow cost roughly $7.22 each.
Packaging: I love that the top is clear so you can see the colours. It also closes magnetically ensuring the shadows inside are well protected. The plastic casing feels sturdy and durable.

Now for a close up of the shades

Honey Lust
"Bronze dipped in peach"
I used this shade today all over my lid and it was not as pigmented as I thought. It adds more of a shimmer to the lid rather than colour pigmentation. When I applied it wet it did intensify it more.

Poppyseed
"Midtone mauvey nude"

Quarry
"Soft muted plum brown"
Also used this shade today as my transition shade. It blended really easily.

Antiqued
"Ash brown with bronze"
This type of colour will really enhance blue eyes!

Embark
"Intense reddish brown"
I don't own any warmer dark brown shades. I will definitely be using this to either line my lash line or darken my outer v.

#Noir
"Deep black brown with gold pearls"

Haux
"Soft muted rosy brown"
This is the perfect shade to also use in the crease, which I did today.

Star Violet
"Pinky brown plum"

Sketch
"Burgundy with red shimmer"
I used this shade on my outer V today lightly and it added the perfect amount of dimension without being too dark for day time wear. Love this shade already!

Overall I think you could come up with numerous colour combinations using these shades to make your eye makeup suitable for day or night. All shades feel buttery and blend easily. They lasted 9 hours on my eyelids without fading, no eye primer was used. I can already tell this palette will be receiving a lot of love.

Sunday marks a new week so here's my next featured brand! One of my all time favourite brands whether it be high-end or drugstore is Maybelline. I have so many Maybelline products in my makeup collection so here is a full review on each item I own, including swatches.

Eyes
Master Precise Liquid Liner
I love the applicator and how easy to use this liner is. This is the best liquid liner I have ever tried however it smudges on me. This usually happens after 4 hours of wear so I can get away with it looking perfect for a short amount of time.

Brow drama
This is a newer product for me. I picked it up when Priceline had their 40% off cosmetics sale. Between now and then I have used it three times and I am liking it so far. Benefit gimme brow is my all time favourite however since going blonde its been too dark for me. Hopefully this lives up to it and I will let you all know after I try it out some more.

Master Shape eyebrow pencil
I love using this pencil when I want to quickly draw on my eyebrows and thats it. For me this was a one step brow product that was quick and easy to use as it has the pencil on one side and brush (spoolie) on the other end. The only downfall with this product is that it is really creamy so you use it up fast. Other than that the staying power and shade of it is perfect.

Eyestudio quad Copper Chic
These shadows are very pigmented and super blendable. Maybelline make some of the best shimmery shadows I have tried from the drugstore, plus these shades help make blue eyes pop! The only downfall is that there are no matte shades within the quad.

Illegal Length Fiber Extensions Mascara
When I first got this mascara I loved it. It gives a lot of length and separates your lashes leaving them clump free. I don't really reach for this mascara no more as I have others I prefer. If you prefer length over volume I suggest this one.

The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
After falling in love with the original one I thought this would be a great mascara to get in the waterproof version so I can wear it at the beach. I have blonde eyelashes and sometimes at the beach if I want to look a bit more put together I will apply this. This is usually the only mascara I will use in Summer when I go away because it lasts all day and does not smudge.

Great Lash Mascara
Another new purchase. I have blue eyes and wanted a basic brown mascara. At the Priceline sale this is the only one I could find at my store so I picked it up, knowing shaaanxo loves it. So far I have been loving this mascara for my bottom lashes. I never used to put mascara on my bottom lashes and I find black is too harsh for me and usually flakes but this makes them look natural and doe
s not smudge at all. I have this in the waterproof version. This will most likely be coming with me this Summer!

Eyestudio Gel Liner
Unlike the liquid liner Maybelline's gel liner lasts longer on me without smudging. When I wear it I do experience some transfer to my bottom lash line, no idea how, however this is after 7 or so hours. Out of all eyeliners I own this is my favourite!

Color Tattoo - barely branded
I use this as a base for all light shimmery eyeshadows. It makes the colour much brighter and last a lot longer. The only negative I find is that whenever I try wearing it alone it creases on my eyelids.
top swatch: color tattoo. Bottom 4 swatches: copper chic

Lips
L-R: peach, cherry, mixed berry, blush essence, vibrant mandarin, vivid rose, lust for blush, petal rebel, mat7 and nude perfection
Bold Matte lipstick Mat7 Nude
This is my favourite nude lipstick I own! It is comfortable to wear and has good lasting power. It is not a drying matte at all and does not emphasise dry lips whatsoever. Whenever I wear it people ask me what lipstick I am wearing and I always recommend it to people that are looking for a nude lipstick.

Colorwhisper Petal Rebel and Lust For Blush
By the end of this section of the review you will have noticed that Maybelline lip products are my absolute favourite and I could not say enough good things about them.
Like every other lip product I own I love these as well. They provide a sheer wash of colour that is still opaque enough to be noticed. Lust for blush is a natural 'my lips but better' shade that I've almost used up completely because its my go-to when I want something simple on my lips.
Petal Rebel is a soft bright pink shade and I love wearing it in Summer when I have a tan. It is an easy colour to wear that you can apply without a mirror because you'll know its going to look good. Compared to the other lipsticks these lean towards a balm for me because they are so moisturising.

Colorsensational Vibrant Mandarin and Vivid Rose
These are the only two bright lip colours I own in my lipstick collection because Maybelline knocked it out of the park with these! They are very long wearing and after the glossy finish wears off it leaves a stain on the lips that lasts through eating and drinking.

The Elixir Blush Essence
I'm not a lipgloss wearer but this is one I do reach for. It isn't too sticky like some glosses can be. It's the perfect every day colour and very comfortable to wear.

Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil Nude Perfection
Love, love, love this. This lip pencil is not dryer whatsoever even though it is a matte finish. The colour is so similar to velvet teddy however I prefer this over velvet teddy (MAC lipstick for those of you who may not know, however everyone and their mum has heard of it!). It doesn't settle into any of the lines in my lips and doesn't emphasise dryness. I don't know why I still only own one of these.

Baby Lips*
Candy Wow: peach, cherry & mixed berry*
My favourite shade of these three is peach. In the swatch above you will notice it is a soft light pink shade. They are moisturising and really easy to use as they are in a stick form. I like to keep them in my pencil case and handbag!

SPF 20 Lip Balm: lychee addict, anti-oxidant berry & mango pie*
4 years ago I used to be OBSESSED with these. They were my go-to lip balms. I am waiting to use up my other lip balms before opening these and falling back in love.

Electro Pop: berry bomb, pink shock & oh! Orange!*
I have not opened or tried these yet.

Color Lip Balm: berry crush, rose addict, pink lolita & cherry kiss*
I have not opened or tried these yet.

Face

Fit Me Foundation
I have this in the original formula. I love using this foundation to mix with my matte foundations to change the finish. When I wear it on its own it is too dewy for me (personal preference) and I find it can oxidise. It provides a medium coverage which can be built up. If applied with a beauty sponge it gives a more sheer we coverage.
Fit Me Concealer
This is my holy grail concealer! On my "no-makeup makeup" days I apply this all over my face and it provides the perfect amount of coverage without looking cakey. It covers any blemishes as well as my dark circles. Although I find that if I do not set this concealer under my eyes it will crease on me. I am on my 4th tube and loving it.
Instant Age Rewind Eraser
I've used up one of these so far and I really like layering it with another concealer for my undereyes. The shade I got looks too white under my eyes on its own so I pair it with my fit me concealer. My mum loves this concealer, she's on her 3rd or 4th one. Shoutout to her because she reads these posts lol.

Fit Me Shine Free Foundation
Unlike any other product I've owned this one did nothing but disappoint me. Unfortunately this did not sit well on my skin and looked really cakey no matter how I applied it or how long I buffed it in for. I really like the quick and compact idea they had for it because it is an ideal product to quickly apply and go however this was a miss for me. I'm using this up because I refuse to throw it out. As you can see in the picture it's almost finished 🙌

Fit Me Powder
I haven't used this powder in so long but I have used up two whole ones. Two years ago and last year it was my holy grail powder. Now I leave it in my bag to touch up however my skin has become dryer lately due to treatments so I don't reach for a powder too often. If you apply it with the puff it comes with it adds extra coverage however if you use a large powder brush it sets your makeup without looking cakey and I don't find it adds any coverage this way. It has fine glitter particles throughout it however I have not found this to transfer onto my face resulting in me looking like a fairy princess. I think I am going to take it out of my bag and start using it again to set my foundation.

What I have previously owned:
Colossal Cat Eye Mascara
This was my go-to mascara when I didn't want to curl my lashes. It has a scooped wand that helps lift and curl the lashes however it was not a long wearing mascara. It did start to flake on me and smudge towards the end of the day.
SuperStay Concealer
This was one of my first ever concealers years ago and I went through three tubes of it. I really loved it to cover blemishes however I converted and fell in love with the fit me concealer now. It was a fast drying concealer.
One by One Mascara
When I was in highschool this was my holy grail mascara. It added enough definition to my lashes that I was able to get away with wearing it at school. It separated and lengthened them rather than giving them volume.
Regular The Falsies Mascara
A really good basic mascara for volume and length. I enjoyed using this mascara and have repurchased it in the waterproof version.
Dream Smooth Primer
The first primer I ever owned. Back then I didn't notice the purpose or difference primer made so I don't really remember how well it worked for me.
