I picked up a sample of the Too Faced Born This Way foundation from my local Mecca after hearing so many positive reviews on it. If you read my blogposts regularly you will know that my skin type is dry and has a lot of redness so full coverage is a necessity. So, let's get into my thoughts on this hyped up foundation.
The Born This Way foundation retails for $58 AUD at Mecca Maxima which is quite a reasonable price for more of a higher end foundation. You receive 30ml of product and guess what, it comes with a pump!! Mecca states it is
A complexion perfection foundation that provides natural looking medium to full coverage. Oil free, hydrating makeup.
Straight away I can agree with natural looking medium to full coverage. I have A LOT of stubborn redness and scarring on my cheeks that it seriously takes a lot of colour correcting and layers to disguise. With this foundation I only needed the tiniest amount to immediately have a medium coverage. It was easy to build upon and in no time I had full coverage minus the cakey look that you can sometimes get. This foundation is lightweight so you don't even feel it on and as it is oil free I do see it working with people with slightly oily skin. Although I cannot speak from experience so still do some research if you are oily!

For some reason I was always under the impression that it was a matte finish foundation however it has more of a satin finish. It is comparable to NARS Sheer Glow in terms of the natural finish it gives your skin. When I used it for the first time I paired it with my Becca Backlight Priming Filter and it did not cling to any dry patches and my skin had more of a dewy appearance.

With my dryer skin this foundation did start looking a little powdery and cakey on my cheeks after the 8 hour mark. Mind you I did not set it with powder so if you have very dry skin keep in mind that it can cling to dry patches after some time or maybe immediately depending on your skin. In saying this, for majority of the day my skin had a healthy glow and did not look cakey. After 5 or so hours it did begin to settle in my smile lines which happens with every foundation in the world. It didn't happen as bad as usual though and I only had to blend it out using my finger before it was good as new.

When I use up more of my current foundations I will most likely purchase this one. I still need to wear it more to see if my opinions change however at this point in time I love it! I'm not sure if it will beat my Sheer Glow but at the moment it is up there with my favourite foundations.

Comment your thoughts on the Born This Way foundation below!
Being a uni student that often has to go out to placement and part-time work means I need my makeup routine to be fast and reliable enough to endure long hours. After countless 6am wake-ups I have finally got a quick routine down pat.

I have dry skin so I always use a hydrating primer, I alternate between Face of Australia Face Base Primer (😍), Australis Original Primer (😍) and Becca Backlight Priming Filter (😍) depending on my skin that day. If my skin is really dry and dull I always use the Becca primer as it adds the most luminosity to my skin.

Next I either reach for my Chi Chi Super CC Cream (😍) or a foundation - usually NARS Sheer Glow (😍). Again this depends on how my skin is looking. I always skip concealer so if I need extra coverage I just add more of the foundation or cc cream to the areas that need it.

Since my skin is on the dryer side I skip powdering all together and I only set my under eyes with any powder that is closest to me. Depending on the time I woke up and if I can be bothered I will use my Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette (😍) since it is 3in1. I use it to bronze, highlight and add blush.

Last two steps are mascara and lips. On the daily I skip curling my lashes and straight away apply my mascara which currently is the Chi Chi 3D Magic Lash Mascara (😍). I am currently on the hunt for a new mascara so comment your favourites below!

Lips is another product that changes up daily. I will mention a few of my favourites at the moment:
😍 Too Faced Melted Lipstick in Chihuahua
😍 Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Midi
😍 Colourpop Lippie Stix in Lumiere
😍 Scout Cosmetics Mineral Lipstick in Awaken

Thank you for reading this weeks post and feel free to comment what your go-to makeup routine/products are!
This week I'm talking nude lips and showing you swatches!

Since majority of my lipstick collection consists of pinks and nudes I though I'd pull out my most worn and favourite shades. I tried to keep this to strictly nude lip shades however most are on the pinky side. I have selected a total of eight lip products with a variety of finishes from different brands to share with you all. Lets jump straight into it!

We all have things we want but don't need.

I have never written a blogpost about products I really want to try out and own so I thought I would create a list of things I want from either Sephora, Mecca or Myer. If you own any of these products comment below and share your thoughts with me!

Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
I never used to be into contouring or bronzing but over the past few months I have slowly added it into my routine. For some unknown reason I have always had my eye on this particular product. Every time I enter Mecca I go and sniff it and then I sadly depart from it. One day I will purchase it because the packaging and scent is AMAZING.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation
Next up is Tarte's Amazonian Clay Foundation. I don't need a new foundation but that does not stop me from saving this product to my wishlist. I am trying to hurry and use up a few of my current foundations because I desperately want to try this one out.  I love a full coverage foundation and it is cruelty free, you can't get any better than that!

MAC Lipsticks
Like a lot of other people I too want to collect MAC lipsticks. I have an extensive list of lipsticks I want to collect however costing $36 for one I doubt I will ever accumulate this many with my own money. The shades I hope to one day own are: brave, yash, shy girl, hug me, faux, modesty, mehr, kinda sexy, cherish, blankety, japanese maple, twig, creme d'nude, flesh pot and creme cup.

Can you tell I am obsessed with nude/pink shades? Lol. I watch so many MAC lipstick collection videos that I want to own them all!

Urban Decay Naked 3
Last but not least is this Urban Decay palette. I already own Naked 2 and have been obsessed with it ever since I got it. I love all the shades in this palette and its so much more unique to the others by them.
