Clay masks are without a doubt my favourite types of masks to use. They leave my skin feeling clean, refreshed and ready for the week ahead! For the past few years the only clay mask I dedicated myself to was the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask however I was recently introduced to reCLAYm. I was sent out their Rejuvenating Pink Aussie Clay Mask with CoQ10. Continue reading to hear my thoughts and learn more about this company.
About
reCLAYm currently sell four types of clay based masks on their websites so no matter what your skin type you will find a match. The Rejuvenating mask that I tried out is aimed towards normal-dry & combination skin types, their Salted Chocolate Deluxe mask (which sounds AMAZING) is also recommended for the same skin type.

If your skin is on the oily or acne prone side they suggest you use their Detoxifying Green Aussie Clay mask with grapefruit, which reminds me most of the Aztec one I love! And last but not least for all you sensitive skin girls or guys they have a Soothing Ivory Aussie Clay mask with aloe vera which already sounds so calming. The ingredients in all their masks are 100% natural and organic and they are paraben free, cruelty free & vegan.
Experience
Before I get into how this mask actually worked out for me I wanted to quickly touch on the concept and packaging. When you receive your box you will notice they mask is split into three small container which are intended to be used once as the mask is activated when combined with water. Therefore you can only use this mask a total of three times. Personally, I think this is a waste because I easily got two uses out of the amount of product in one of the small containers. I put all the "powder" into two containers and kept the third empty for where I made up the actual mask. By doing this I was able to use as little or as much to suit myself. If this mask come in one bigger tub and a small tub (for mixing) it would be 5/5. The retail price is $18.95 and I definitely think for the amount of product you get it is worth it however I am not a fan of the concept.

Now for the actual mask and how it worked. I have normal/dry skin which can be sensitive however this mask did not irritate nor dry out my skin at all. I found it easy to create and apply as it comes with a stick so spreading it across my face was a breeze. Also since you mix it up inside the container it allows for a mess free experience.

When the mask was on my face the entire time it felt cooling and never tight or drying which was a pleasant feeling. I have seen online that clay masks aren't really recommended for dryer skin types but this one definitely works well. After 15 or so minutes I removed the mask which was slightly messier than applying it. Because it is red in colour they advised you to avoid white or light coloured towels so I opted for my hands. It did get everywhere in my sink but washed off easily. The only other thing I wanted to make note of was that if you have light coloured or blonde roots this can stain so I suggest you remove this mask in the shower to ensure you get it out of your hairline properly. Or you could avoid your hairline and not make my mistake 😂

Once removed my face felt hydrated but clean at the same time. It felt as though all my pores had been cleaned out but my face was not stripped of any oils leaving it dry if that makes any sense.
Overall I was very impressed with this mask and really want to try out their Salted Chocolate one! The reCLAYm website offers free shipping Australia wide and for the prices of these masks I highly recommend you take the plunge and try one out. I will attach their social media and website below for you all to check them out 😊

I love Too Faced Cosmetics and I definitely need more of their products in my makeup collection. This week I am sharing my very small but loved collection with you all as well as letting you know which products are my favourite.

My first ever Too Faced purchase was all because of KathleenLights - she started my obsession with the brand. It was one of their La Creme Colour Drenched Lipsticks in the shade Naked Dolly. This is a very creamy nude lipstick with a glossy finish. If I have chapped lips this lipstick will emphasise it so exfoliating is important. I love the smell and look of this lipstick but because of the finish and due to my lips usually being on the dryer side I don't really reach for it regularly.

Next up is their Natural Eyes eye shadow palette. This was the second eye shadow palette I have ever owned and I purchased it while I was in Rome. It comes with a lot of good memories and is a very well loved palette. This is definitely my favourite item I own from the brand. This palette is compact and has every shade I will need for a night out of subtle day look. Whenever I travel this is the palette I take away with me because it is so versatile and blends well.

My third purchase was a Melted Lipstick in the shade Chihuahua. Out of the two lip products I own I reach for this one more, I have even got my mum onto it. It has a creamy/satin finish once dried down and excess product has been blotted away (I do this to prevent it from going on my teeth) and is very long-lasting. Again, like all Too Faced packaging it is amazing and looks good displayed on my makeup table, but not only do I like it for that but I really like the concept of how you apply it. This is another winner for me!

When my mum was over in Bali she visited the new Sephora and picked up the Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer for me. I had wanted this product ever since it came out mostly because of its scent, packaging and it being matte. This bronzer works well to bronze up the skin and contour because it isn't too warm toned. It blends easily and you need it in your life pretty much.

Lastly is my sample size of their Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer thanks to BeautyLoop. I had tried a small sample of this before and it really helped my shadows last all night without fading or creasing. Unfortunately concealer and powder doesn't cut it for my eyelids so I have to use a primer. I was going to purchase this on my own but now I have a generous sample to use. When i'm out I'll definitely purchase it!

That is my very small Too Faced collection which needs to expand so comment your favourites that I need to try out below or on my Instagram!
With Christmas fast approaching and the countless gift sets being released it can be overwhelming when deciding on gifts to purchase. This weeks post is all about cruelty free and/or natural sets I've found and think would make a great present to someone you love!
1. LUSH
When I think of Christmas gifts my mind instantly thinks of Lush, especially their Christmas releases! Lush offer a range of already wrapped (bonus!) gifts at a variety of prices to suit your budget. These are a few of my favourites so far:

  • The Night Before Christmas $17.95 - includes 1 shoot for the stars bath bomb and 1 twilight bath bomb. If your friend or family member love baths they will definitely appreciate this!
  • Sweet Christmas $26.50 - includes Snow Fairy gel, Rock Star soap and Snow Fairy body conditioner. Snow fairy is one of my all time favourite Lush scents and this is a great set that allows you to try out a few Lush products.
If you're after more of a "stocking stuffer" kind of present then they also have limited edition bath bombs and bubble bars that are so cute and smell amazing. I recommend bubble bars as they are multi-use products and these would make anyones bath extra relaxing:
2. INIKA ORGANICS
If you're after organic & vegan beauty products to gift someone then I 100% recommend this company. Although these sets aren't specifically for Christmas, they're a great way to introduce someone to makeup or even make a beauty addict very happy. I looked through all their makeup kits and the ones I suggest most are their eye sets. They also have face kits but personally I find it hard to know someones skin shade so the eye kits will be your safer option.

They have two eye kits so depending on what the person you're buying for prefers they have a Smokey Eye kit and Dusty Eye kit, both retail for $49 each.

3. CANDLES
I feel like candles are the go-to gift when you aren't sure what to buy. I mean, who doesn't love candles?

If you are unsure of a certain scent someone may like Tilley have sets containing three 35g candles with assorted scents. These come in peony, lavender and vanilla or lychee, lemongrass and lime coconut and cost $19.95 each.

4. THE BODY SHOP
I am aware that The Body Shop's parent company choose to test on animals so it is up to you whether you count them as cruelty free or not but I though I would include them as an option. Like Lush they also create sets just for Christmas so it takes the guessing work out of your gift as its already prepared for you. A lot of the gifts are similar but come in a variety of scents for you to choose from. Two that stand out to me and two that I would actually purchase for someone are:
  • Coconut Soft Hands, Warm Kisses $16.95 - this includes a lip butter and a hand cream. It also comes in two other scents.
  • Fuji Green Tea Treats $10.95 - this set comes with a shower gel, body lotion and a mini green bath lilly. This set comes in one other scent.

5. MECCA
There was no way I could do a Christmas gift guide without including a few amazing gift sets from Mecca! Mecca's website also have put together a gift guide if you need more help on what to get.
Now for my recommendations... to be completely honest the sets I am recommending are the ones I'd pretty much love to receive myself haha.
  • Mini Better Than Sex Mascara Ornament $17 - I think this is such a cute idea!! You can literally hang this from your tree and it would be the most perfect ornament for any beauty lover.
  • Merry Kissmas Liquified Lipstick Set $36 - This set is such a steal! Honestly it would take someone quite a long time to even use up a liquid lipstick, I know I've never even used one up. This set comes with four deluxe sized samples of the original liquid long wear lipsticks in the shades Chihuahua (my fave) and Fig, one melted chocolate liquified lipstick in Honey and the recently released melted liquified long wear matte lipstick in Lady Balls.
  • Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit $116 - If you want to splurge than this is the product to go for. It contains two blushes, an all-over powder, one bronzer and a hightlighter all encased in a beautiful marble packaging.

6. GIFTS FOR HIM
So this post has pretty much been beauty related but what about the boys? I got you covered with them and yes they're cruelty free options too!
  • Le Labo Thé Noir 29 Shower Gel $72 - this is definitely another splurge product, but if you really want to spoil a special man in your life then this could be an option. I feel like shower gel is a good option for boys since its pretty much like liquid soap (well at least in their eyes) so you know it will actually be useful during shower time. It is cruelty free & vegan too.
  • Malin+Geotz Firm Hold Hair Gel $31 - If your significant other styles their hair then this will be another useful gift for them. Its naturally fragranced and won't cause irritation to their scalp.
  • Daniel Wellington Watches - the watches are at a range of prices and come in a variety of styles. Definitely worth a look!
Other general gifts for males could be a wallet, clothes, their favourite alcohol (if they have one) or a new shaver (great time to purchase essentials).

Thank you for reading and I hope that this gift guide was helpful! Happy Christmas shopping xx
The average person would not spend endless amounts of money on makeup or would own drawers full of it (I am guilty of this lol). So this post is for those of you who are on a budget and are looking to either delve into makeup or get a few staple products you can use daily. These are the products that I think you would really need if you are just starting out or even looking to expand your collection while on a budget.
1. BB/CC Cream
I feel like this is a staple in a makeup collection, perfect to wear to school too. Everyone needs some sort of base and there are so many affordable options to suit your concerns and preferences.
Some products I recommend are:

  • Chi Chi Cosmetics CC Cream - it is lightweight, has a dewy finish and is buildable. This product also has SPF within in. For those who are wondering CC stands for Colour Correcting so this product is best for people with redness as it helps to counteract it and disguise it.
  • Chi Chi Cosmetics BB Cream - I have not tried this one myself but I have heard great things. BB stands for beauty balm and is similar to a tinted moisturiser however it provides more coverage. This also contains SPF and is good for daily wear as it isn't as heavy as a full on foundation.
Ever since going cruelty free I have not found a foundation that works well for me so I will be excluding that in this post. I will however give one non-cruelty free option for those who aren't fussed. If you want an affordable foundation that works just as well as an expensive one have a look at the Bourjois foundations, they're never cakey and there are different types aimed at various skin types and finishes.
2. Powder
  • Face of Australia translucent powder - provides no coverage but sets your makeup
  • Australis Fresh & Flawless powder - adds coverage without being cakey. Can also be used on its own for a light coverage.
3. Mascara
Essence make the best I have tried. They make a variety of mascaras so it depends on what you are looking for. There are mascaras to add volume or length etc.

4. Eyeshadow
Hands down Chi Chi eyeshadows are the best affordable shadows that I have ever tried. They have a massive range of cool tones, warm tones and even colour.
5. Brows
NYX eyebrow cake powder! There's heaps of shades to suit your brows.

6. Lip products
  • NYX soft matte lip creams - semi matte "liquid" lipsticks that aren't drying at all
  • Chi Chi lipsticks - come in different shades and different finishes
  • 3ina - a new store has opened up in Melbourne Central and their liquid lipsticks is one of the best formulas I have ever tried!
7. Contour, Highlight & Blush
  • ELF Cosmetics - contour/blush kits
  • Chi Chi Cosmetics baked eyeshadow in 'Call Me' - makes an amazing highlight
  • Sleek Cosmetics

Honourable mention - Colourpop Cosmetics
An online only brand however their products are very affordable and come in a variety of shades/finishes.
Comment your favourite affordable products below, I'd love to check them out!
For the past week my boyfriend and I have been putting a few White Glo products to the test. Read on to see our results and thoughts on the products!
A PR company kindly reached out to me to trial a few products from the company White Glo. When I told my boyfriend about it he wanted it for himself, so I decided to share the products with him and include him in my review this week. Since he really wanted to whiten his teeth but didn't want to sit around with things on his teeth I let him have the two toothpastes, one being the Power Brush Toothpaste, while I used and alternated between the Whitening penWhitening strips and the Advanced Teeth Whitening System (excluding the toothpaste). The results are exactly one week of use and we both used the products every day for a week (#relationshipgoals lol).

A little about White Glo as a company - they are an Australian cruelty free company who were initially for actors and models. They now sell their products to the general public so we can all have whiter teeth in the comfort of our own home. Their products are designed to "transform aging, yellowing teeth into pearly whites."

Before I jump into my results on the actual "teeth whitening" products I wanted to quickly mention their power brush toothpaste ($6.99).
This toothpaste is specifically designed for electric toothbrushes as it works with the high speed movement resulting in a whiter and brighter smile. I don't have an electric tooth brush so I personally didn't put this one to the test however my boyfriend was able to. He said it made his teeth brighter and left a fresh feeling.

Next up is the first product I tried out - their Whitening Pen and Whitening Strips ($19.99).

This box contains one whitening pen (2.5ml) and 7x upper and 7x lower whitening strips. It recommends you use the pen 2-3 times a day for the best results and you leave the gel on for 10-30 minutes. During this time you cannot eat or drink and after the time has passed you rinse your mouth with water. I tried to do it three times a day however most days it was only applied twice. As for the strips, those are also recommended to use once a day for 7 days.

I found the pen to be very handy and my product of choice when whitening my teeth. It is as simple as twisting the bottom and "drawing" the gel onto your teeth. It leaves a sort of minty taste in your mouth and is not noticeable whatsoever (unlike the strips). This pen is designed for touch ups so it didn't make them 5 shades brighter however I did notice as the days went on that my teeth were less of a yellow tinge.

As for the strips I only used them a few times. I found them to make my bottom teeth sensitive every time I used them. I think the reason for this is because I have a metal bar along the back of my bottom (to keep them straight). The strips are folded over to the back of your teeth to keep them in place and I don't think it worked too well with my bar there. I do know that if you have braces these products are not recommended for you so maybe if you have the bar at the back too maybe steer clear. In saying that, these made more of a difference with whitening my teeth than the pen did. I had no issues on my top teeth and the results were obvious enough for other people to notice my teeth were whiter.

Last but not least is probably the box set you are all most looking forward to. The Advanced Teeth Whitening System ($19.99).
This system helps provide long lasting results as it claims to "lift stains and remove yellowing from the enamel safely without abrasion." The treatment time for this is 5-15 minutes and it recommends you use it daily for one week. The pack also contains a daily maintenance toothpaste which will help enhance your results, this was given to my boyfriend to try so I had to stick to my regular toothpaste. Out of all the teeth whitening products this one claims to give you long-term results rather than instant. You will see the difference it made in just one week of use in the photo below.

My boyfriend did start out using this but he found it a little uncomfortable as he wasn't used to having a plate in his mouth so I had to take over and use it instead. I have had braces and sleep with a plate every night so this did not bother me at all. I suppose if you aren't used to it you would just need to get used to it. I only used this for 4 out of the 7 days but as you will see there is still a significant difference within the 7 days.

Results

I've never whitened my teeth before so this was all very exciting for me. I enjoyed the process and it felt like I was pampering myself whenever I did it. Even though my teeth weren't that yellow to begin with I am still impressed with the results and can definitely tell they are brighter and whiter. Out of all products I definitely recommend the pen as that was the most practical and my favourite.

I hope this review was helpful, especially if you're looking into whitening your teeth at home rather than spending $$$ at the dentist. I will mention that if you already have sensitive teeth then teeth whitening may not be for you all together as it did make my teeth a little sensitive. I will include links below if you are interested in checking out White Glo's website or Instagram page for more information about their products.

If you know me you will know all about my obsession with DIY hair masks. I usually whip up my own oil mixtures with a little bit of honey however, this means I don't do hair masks often since it is time consuming and can get messy. I tried out the hydration mask by Hello Hair recently and let me tell you, I am obsessed.
I am very passionate about hair, specifically natural hair care since I dye it quite often due to my dad being a hairdresser. I love achieving nice smelling, soft hair without having to use damaging products that claim to be "good" for your hair. I also only wash my hair once to twice a week so hair masks are  a perfect addition to my hair care routine.

About
"Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is a 100% natural treatment which uses the benefits of Coconut, Almond and Argan oils to reconstruct and strengthen stressed out and damaged hair. It is a great remedy for colour treated and bleached hair, chemically treated hair, and hair which is regularly affected by heat exposure from the sun, blow-drying and straightening. Hello Hair can also assist in the management of dandruff and dry, flaky scalp issues. It leaves your hair feeling softer and easier to manage after use."

Opinion
I recently chopped my hair off again. I am obsessed with the low maintenance and healthier feeling of shoulder length hair so my hair already is in pretty good condition. Like I said above I don't wash my hair often so I love to add extra hydration into my hair on a weekly basis with a hair mask.

The packaging of this hair mask is a massive bonus for me, it makes it easy to use and adjust how much product you need depending on your hair length. I already can tell I will reach for this over my DIY mask because of the practicality when using it. Since my hair is so short the 100ml packet will probably last about 6 or so uses, their website suggests that regular (mid) length hair will last 4 uses.

When I do hair masks I like to leave them in for as long as possible to get the most benefits out of it and this was no exception. I left the mask in for 4 hours the first time but I have also left it in over night. You will notice results no matter how long you leave it but I personally feel like it works its magic more when you leave it in longer.

To apply you squirt some of the oil into your palm and spread it evenly throughout your hair from roots to ends. If you have bleached ends like me I like to focus most of the product there since it tends to be dryer than the rest of your hair. Once applied I then asked my mum to wrap my hair for me in glad wrap because my hands were an oily mess and then put on a beanie to keep the oil warm so it was more like a "hot oil hair mask". This is just my personal preference and how I like to do my hair masks. After a few hours or however long it was in I then had a shower (obviously) to wash it out. I like to do two shampoos even though my hair isn't oily because I personally don't like the feeling or look of too much oil in my hair when it has dried. I still get soft, healthy feeling hair that looks shiny but not oily. I also follow up with a little bit of conditioner just on my ends otherwise I find that my roots will look too oily or get oily too quickly during the week. Another thing I like to do, which may affect your hairs results is rinsing my hair with cool water instead of hot, this is because hot water can damage your hair and you don't want to cause any damage after putting in this effort to make it healthier!

Once my hair has air dried like I have mentioned 100 times already my hair felt very soft, smooth, looked healthier and was a breeze to brush through. I don't have knotty nor damaged hair so I can't tell you if one treatment will offer you the same results but after a few treatments you will definitely notice that your hair is in a lot better condition.

If you are interested in trying out Hello Hair yourself check out their details below and I 100% recommend it. The mask I used is only $15 and that is a bargain for the amount of uses you get out of it (especially my short hair girls or boys!) plus it cuts out you having to make up your own treatment.

I have recently joined the Lip Monthly subscription bandwagon. Being a lipstick and lip product lover this monthly subscription service could not be more perfect for me and any other lip product addicts! I know this post is a little late for October however I just received my bag (we had the long weekend here in Australia delaying its arrival). I hope these posts help you decide whether or not you think this subscription is for you.
Lip monthly comes in a bag which is very handy to stash your makeup in when you travel or your handbag. It contains four full sized lip products every single month! The bag retails for $12.95 US with free international shipping. If you're interested in receiving joining lip monthly you can get 55% off your first bag when you use the code ALYSHIA, which brings it down to only $5.80 US. Keep in mind that shipping is free so that is a bargain for 4 lip products!!

So let's get into the products from the October bag:
This months bag came with two lipsticks, a lip liner and lip gloss, the theme as you can probably see is Fall/Autumn.

The first lipstick and my favourite item I received is from the brand Hikari* ($13) in the shade romance. Their website describes this shade as a nude and as you will see in my swatches below it is on the pinky/peach side.
The second and final lipstick is by be a.... bombshell* ($6) and it is the shade charmed. Their websites describes this shade as a brown however I think it is more of a warm toned/orangey brown. A perfect fall shade!
When I first saw this sahara lipgloss by Cargo* ($16) I immediately thought it looked like Tight Fit by Colourpop however it is more of a clear gloss with sparkle rather than coloured and metallic. Being clear makes it perfect as a lipstick or lip pencil topper.
Last but not least is a lip liner by Laritzy Cosmetics* which retails for $18. This lip liner was very creamy despite it being in pencil form and I love the shade.

 Swatches:
Shades top to bottom: Deep Orchid, Sahara, Charmed and Romance.

I think this subscription is perfect for makeup addicts that prefer to collect lip products over any other item. It is a great way to try out new brands, formulas and colours without having to purchase them at their full retail price and then not liking it. This months bag would cost a total of $53 however it only costed $12.95.

Lip Monthly is a little different to other subscription boxes as they only include full sized products in every monthly bags and they will always be different. I have decided in my monthly reviews to put a * next to the products that are CF (cruelty free) to help anyone out that may be interested in seeing which products aren't tested on animals. Since I am now cruelty free anything that isn't will be passed along to family and friends. I am very impressed that this bag contained all cruelty free products!!
Thats all for this months bag and I will have another post up for November bag soon!

Skin update time! I have been on the natural route for about a month now and I wanted to check in on how my skin is going. To catch up please read my first post so you have a background on whats going on and the benefits/reasons of what I am taking.
Vitamins
I am still taking my Vitamin A, Multivitamin and Maca tablets daily.

In terms of the maca root tablet the only thing I have noticed thus far is my period is regular and lighter although I am still getting headaches and hormonal acne. I will be trying something with my diet to further help balance my hormones to see if that will help with the hormonal breakouts. When I finish this bottle of tablets I will up my dosage to 1000mg to see if that works better since I haven't had any negative side effects to this lower dosage.

Diet
I am very happy to say that I have completely cut out sugar (except from fruits) from my diet for the past two months. At the beginning I did suffer from afternoon headaches which I am putting it down to sugar cravings but a banana and a block of 70-90% dark chocolate usually helped. Some days they were really bad though and it was tough to not eat biscuits instead. Thankfully the cravings are gone and I have no desire to eat processed sugary foods. I do feel like this has helped a lot with keeping the acne away. Like I said above I still got hormonal acne when it was that time of the month but when it wasn't I had none. I will continue to keep sugar out of my diet and if you are thinking of cutting it out or currently are going through it I know it is tough but it is definitely worth it in the end! Plus it has so many other health benefits.

I still have juices with a mixture of vegetables and fruits which has replaced my old processed sugar intake but I now include seeds which I will speak about more. I came across a post here talking about how you can balance your hormones naturally with seed cycling. Unfortunately my period arrived before I could gather all the seeds so I won't start this properly until next month. Keep an eye out for my next update because i'll definitely include more about this!

Detox
As for my detox this had to be put on hold. I did start it but I got really sick so I had to stop. The detox didn't make me sick I just suffer from reoccuring tonsillitis and needed all the energy I could get.

I can tell you that the tea I chose tasted really good so it was easy to drink the recommended amount.

Skincare/Beauty
Last but not least is what I am doing topically.
I am still using -
The same rosehip oil, hydrating face fluid, cleansing oil and face masks. I finished my Antipodes cleanser completely so now I am using one by Iluka and I switched out my moisturiser as it made my skin itchy. The one I use now is the Trilogy Ultra Hydrating Face Cream which helps so much with my dry skin.

As for makeup I decided to purchase the Organic CC Cream by Physician's Formula and use a Nude by Nature powder to add more coverage.

I am also looking into dermarolling to help treat my scarring. I am usually a big sook when it comes to pain and have a phobia of needles so I don't know how well it will work. I'm very tempted to take the plunge after researching it and seeing amazing results. I have no idea what brand is best so if you have any recommendations please let me know and you'll most likely read about my experience in the next few updates!

Thats all I have to say for this update and I will have another one up in a month or so.
